Smithing is one of the five professions of Maplestory. Players who have learned Mining and wish to pursue Smithing can talk to Gere in Ardentmill to become a Blacksmith.
Blacksmiths use gems, plates, and Abrasives to craft various armor over level 28 (with the exception of Work Gloves), as well as craft Androids. Blacksmiths can also craft weapons, including weapons not normally dropped by enemies in the game. Blacksmiths and Jewelers can extract up to 5 items from the item menu (unless an Extractor is used), while Alchemists can extract up to 10.
Once Blacksmiths reach Master Craftsman rank, they are able to craft Master Craftsman's Cubes / Hard Cubes and Magic Whetstones, which are consumed for the Weapon Tempering skill. Upon reaching Meister rank, Blacksmiths can craft Meister's Cubes / Solid Cubes and Meister weapons, and are able to use the Advanced Accessory Enhancement skill.
