Job

Marksman is a branch of the Explorer Bowman class. Upon reaching Level 30, an Explorer Bowman can become a Marksman by choosing to become a Crossbowman after completing the 2nd Job Advancement at Level 30. Their second job is Crossbowman, their third job is Sniper, and their fourth job is Marksman.

Class Specifics

The Marksman job branch specializes in Crossbows as primary weapons and Bow Thimbles as secondary weapons. Like the Bowmaster, Marksmen fires arrows from afar, but with a bigger emphasis on firing from a distance, as their skills' damage are increased the further away they are from the monsters.

Their job specialty skill is Rangefinder, which gives two different effects based on the player's distance - when attacking up close, they will ignore more enemy defense; when attacking from afar, the player deals more damage. This is enhanced in 4th job with Bolt Surplus, increasing these effects and increasing the number of hits for attacks that deal multiple hits. When far away, they also ignore additional enemy defense with Vital Hunter, and deal increased damage to solitary enemies with Last Man Standing. Their main attacks in 4th job are Snipe, which deals a large amount of damage to a single enemy, but with a cooldown that can only be removed with a Hyper Skill, and Piercing Arrow, which deals 1.15 times multiplicative damage to each additional enemy hit after the first.

Job Advancements

1st Job Advancement

When the player reaches Level 10 as a Beginner, aspiring Bowmen will be sent to the Bowman Instructional School in Henesys to talk to Athena Pierce, who will advance the player to an Archer. The player will be given an HP and MP boost, as well as a basic bowman weapon.

2nd Job Advancement

At Level 30, the player will receive a lightbulb on the side from Athena Pierce, who will send the player back to the Bowman Instructional School. She will allow the player to choose to advance to either a Hunter or a Crossbowman; a player that desires to become a Marksman will want to advance to a Crossbowman. Athena Pierce will send the player to a special map to collect 30 Dark Marbles from the Stone Golems inside. Upon returning, she will advance you to a Crossbowman.

3rd Job Advancement

At Level 60, the player will receive a lightbulb on the side from Athena Pierce once again, who will teleport the player to the Chief's Residence in El Nath to speak with Rene. She will teleport the player to the Dead Mine's Holy Ground at the Snowfield, where the player must click on the Holy Stone at the bottom of the map to enter another dimension. Once there, walk to the right portal to enter the Dimensional World and defeat Athena Pierce's Clone inside to obtain the Black Charm. Return to Rene with the quest item in hand to advance from a Crossbowman to a Sniper.

4th Job Advancement

At Level 100, the player will receive a lightbulb on the side from Rene. After speaking to her, the player must head to Leafre and venture to the Forest of the Priest, which can be accessed by walking to Valley of the Antelope 1 and entering the portal on the top right (indicated by a wooden face-like structure) to meet Legor. He will give the player the task to obtain the Heroic Pentagon from Manon, Herald of Heroes and the Heroic Star from Griffey Herald of Heroes. Return to Legor and speak to him again to advance from a Sniper to a Marksman.
